We need to do a better job of protecting your privacy and your personal information. That message being delivered by federal Privacy Commissioner Daniel Therrien.
He says government and many companies have systems in place that are okay but not great and problems arise because of a lack of resources.
Therrien says the impact on privacy of the new anti-terrorism legislation has not been properly evaluated. He warns information is being shared with foreign governments, the likes of which saw Maher Arar falling into the hands of the Syrian Government where he was imprisoned and tortured.
