In 24 hours, a couple from Miramichi had their life turned upside down after winning the Set For Life scratch ticket.
Brian and Linda McLean chose the $675,000 lump sum, instead of $1,000 a week for 25 years.
Brian says he buys the Set For Life scratch tickets fairly often, and always told his wife that he believed he would win.
“Bought the ticket at 10 o’clock, and then I come home, and I usually have a bowl of soup for dinner, then I go into the den and turn the TV on, and turn it down to fall asleep for my nap, and I brought the two tickets in, and I was scratching them in there and that’s how I found out I was a winner,” says McLean.
Brian says they will get financial advice on what to do with their money, but did admit he bought a 15-hundred dollar big screen TV that he’d had his eye on for several weeks.
