The old north end could be revitalised if a major real estate deal comes to fruition.
That’s the hope of Mayor Don Darling if a Fredericton based company takes over more than 60 properties in the north end and Waterloo Village.
Darling sees potential for revival in the north end especially at the end of Main Street down by the waterfront.
Many of the old apartment houses on the properties that would be taken over are boarded up. The buildings that can’t be brought back to life, we are told, will be torn down and something new will be built.
Some of the buildings in question are occupied and the tenants would have to be relocated.
