What started out as a clothing app has led to an actual retail store in Uptown Saint John.
Kelly Lawson created the app called Ella, with the purpose of allowing women in Saint John to buy and sell used clothing.
Lawson says the purpose of the store is to provide a convenient location for users of the app to try on the clothes before they purchase them.
She says one study found the average woman spends $300 dollars a month on fashion with 51 percent of those purchases becoming obsolete within four weeks.
She says that means a lot of the clothes posted on the app are in new, or next to new condition.
The Shop by Ella is located at 101 Prince William Street.
