The federal government is helping fund support services for victims of intimate partner violence in New Brunswick.
MP Sean Casey spoke on behalf of the federal Justice Minister in Moncton today, announcing more than 3.4 million dollars over five years to enhance victim services.
He says a review is underway to ensure the justice system is fair and efficient.
He says the needs of victims, survivors and their famillies will be an integral part of that review.
The money will be used in several areas including improvement of awareness and access to resources as well as establishment of a Court Support Volunteer Program to help children and vulnerable victims who testify.
