A Riverview man is hoping to raise awareness and support for his new part time business venture.
Trent Washburn has invented what he calls the Sweep N Sing, “My daughter Luna, came into the living room, and the music was playing, and with a broom in her hand. She started singing into the end of the handle. It hit me that a lot of people do that, and I thought why don’t we put a microphone at the end of the handle and hook it up to a speaker somehow.”

He is currently working with a prototype, and is taking pre-orders at the Moncton and Riverview Markets. It takes a lot of money to make an invention a reality.
Washburn has also registered on Kickstarter, a website that helps to raise funds for those who would like bring their creativity to life.
He says, “It takes quite a bit of money to take any idea, any product to market. It is quite the venture. I have a brochure on my site and at the market that lists all of the various different costs needed.”
Washburn needs about $65, 000 in order to start fulfilling orders. He says the good thing about Kickstarter, is a person will only have to pay if his fundraising is successful on his end date, which is November 12th, and he reaches his goal.
