Everyone at the Cherry Brook Zoo is excited to add two new lions to their fold.
The African lions are a brother and sister from the Bowmanville Zoo which is closing.
The male is 3 years old and the female is 2 years old.
Cherry Brook Zoo acting Executive Director Martha McDevitt agrees it’s been a difficult few months.
She says it has definitely been but they are forward thinking and making the changes necessary to survive and thrive.
The recent upheaval involved the sudden departure of longtime operators Len and Lynda Collrin and an ensuring police investigation and legal action.
McDevitt says the lions should be here in two weeks.
