A 51-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle on the Elsipogtog First Nation.
RCMP say they responded to a report of a possible impaired driver shortly after 11 o’clock Wednesday night.
Minutes later, police received another call about a single-vehicle crash near an intersection in the community.
Police say the driver was able to get out of the vehicle but was struck by a second oncoming vehicle.
The victim died of his injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 33-year-old man from Baie-Sainte-Anne, was arrested and could face charges after it was learned he was prohibited from driving under the Criminal Code.
