Today is Day 1 of Devin Morningstar’s trial in the killing of 18-year old Baylee Wylie.
Morningstar is being arraigned at 9:30 in Moncton court after pleading not guilty to first degree murder and arson yesterday.
Justice John Walsh will be issuing instructions to the jury, and then the Crown will deliver their opening address.
Crown Counsellors Marc Savoie and Stephen Holt are expected to call their first witnesses today as well.
Walsh told the seven women and five men of the jury while he is the judge of the law, they are the judges of the facts of the case.
The trial is expected to last 5 weeks.
