The Opposition parties have been quick to pounce upon hearing reports Prime Minister Trudeau may not go ahead with changing the way we vote in federal elections.
Federal NDP leader Tom Mulcair accuses the Prime Minister of defying the desires of most voters. He points out the Liberals won a majority government a year ago with just 39 per cent of the total vote which was a lower percentage than what the Conservatives got before them.
Interim Conservative leader Rona Ambrose says her party has consulted voters of every political stripe and they want a referendum on any change that’s made.
Trudeau says he will wait to see what the Electoral Reform Commission has to say. It was one year ago today that the Liberals won the federal election.
