The jewelry-stealing spree of a man and a woman believed to have snatched $30,000 dollars in diamonds from stores in Saint John and Charlottetown is over.
Canada-wide warrants were issued yesterday by Saint John police and as a result, the man and woman from Vaughn, Ontario were arrested and are being held by the York Regional Police Service for theft of a $10,000 diamond from W.H. Smith and Company Fine Jewellers in Brunswick Square.
The theft occurred on October 7th.
70 year old Grigori Zaharov and 44 year old Natalia Feldman are facing theft charges.
The Major Crime Unit of the Saint John Police are making arrangement to have the suspects returned to Saint John to answer to criminal charges.
These people are suspects in several other places for similar crimes.
Saint John police are working other police agencies on this matter.
Charlottetown police accuse the same pair of getting away with $20,000 in diamonds from a store in that city on October 12th.
