Lancaster Minor Hockey is getting a helping hand from Scotiabank to the tune of $15,000.
Word of the funding comes as Saint John plays host to Rogers Hometown Hockey this weekend at Long Wharf. The host of Hockey Night in Canada, Ron MacLean, will be here Sunday.
Event co-chair Aaron Kennedy says that MacLean became pumped about Hometown Hockey when he wasn’t hosting Hockey Night in Canada last season.
“Now that he’s back as back as the host of Hockey Night in Canada this…left such an impression on him and he really enjoyed going out and meeting with folks across the country and talking hockey,” says Kennedy.
“That he said sure, obviously I want to go back and host Hockey Night In Canada but I also want to stick with Hometown Hockey as well.”
