Saint John will take centre stage tonight as Hometown Hockey goes live to air from Long Wharf.
The broadcast starts at 8:30pm.
Host Ron MacLean says his favourite part about the show is the stories he hears along the way.
He says travelling the country with Hometown Hockey has really shown him Canadians are all the same dispute our unique Maritime, Western and Quebec cultures.
MacLean says “we have a certain vibe, humility and excellence that is just so fun to showcase, and let other Canadians see”.
MacLean says he looks forward to what they have planned for Saint John.
The broadcast will include pieces on Joseph Veleno of the Saint John Sea Dogs, Rothesay native Max Arsenaut, former mayor Elsie Wayne, former NHL player Randy Jones and the Saint John Vito’s.
MacLean says he hopes Hometown Hockey can become an institutional show, and a great companion to hockey night in Canada.
The game featured on the broadcast tonight will be between the Vancouver Canucks and Anaheim Ducks.
