The Cherry Brook Zoo has a new addition in the form of African Lions, Freida and Aslan.
The lions arrived in Saint John on Sunday from the Bowmanville Zoo in Ontario which is closing.
Executive Director Martha McDevitt tells us donors helped fund this and the zoo’s volunteers and staff worked hard to prepare the lions’ new enclosure.
The lions are a brother and sister who were born in June 2014.
From the 16 hour drive from Ontario, both lions have superficial sores from rubbing against the transportation crate.
McDevitt says they look painful but they will heal up nicely.
