The go ahead has been given for two test turbines to be deployed in the Minas Basin near Parrsboro after a ruling in the Nova Scotia Supreme Court.
Mr. Justice Jamie Campbell determined there’s no evidence to suggest permanent harm would be caused by putting the turbines in the water from now until next February when there will be a judicial review.
He did say the fishermen have shown there’s an issue to be argued at that time, noting the fishermen are not against tidal power per say. They want to make sure no environmental damage that would put their livlihoods at risk.
