A clothing company based in Fredericton is continuing its effort of creating clothing to start conversations about mental health.
Wear Your Label Co-founder and CEO Kayley Reed says the company is celebrating its second birthday.
Reed says the goal was to create positive products to encourage conversations around mental health and to give back to mental health initiatives
She says she wanted to create something tangible that could help start conversations around something so stigmatized.
The clothing includes tags that tell you how to take care of your garment and how to take care of yourself as well.
Reed says the stories and emails she receives is the best part of her job because it lets her know that something as simple as a t-shirt can help people take ownership of what they’re going through.
Reed says 1 in 5 people in Canada struggle with a mental health disorder.
