Health Canada is advising consumers to check some of the products that may have been purchased at Spirit Halloween.
They say on several occasions, the store has agreed to stop or recall products that do not meet Canadian health and safety requirements, but when Health Canada visited some of the stores, they found that the products were still being sold.
They’ve issued a list of the affected items. They include a strings of orange and purple lights, a pumpkin tiki torch, feather witch hat and angel wings.
The main concern is that several of the items can be a fire hazard.
There is also a recall on Spirit Halloween Spider Belly Baby and Puppy Belly Baby infant and toddler costumes, ranging in size between 18 months to 24 months, and from sizes 2T to 4T.
There’s concern that the eyes could detach from the costumes and could pose a choking hazard.
The affected Belly Baby costumes were sold between August and October of this year.
