53 year old Dorothy Tucker of Oak Haven, outside St. Stephen, died from a gunshot wound to the head in November of 2014. Her son Matthew, who lived with her, is charged with second degree murder.
Dorothy Tucker was engaged to be married. She was reported missing by her fiancee Micheal York after not showing up for work which was considered unusual.
Matthew Tucker told the RCMP he didn’t know where she was. Her vehicle was still parked in the yard where they lived.
The jury has been told the RCMP seized a 12 guage shotgun from a garage on the Tucker property, a shotgun case and ammunition belt from Matthew Tucker’s bedroom. Spent shotgun shells were discovered in the yard and red stained clothing was also seized.
The trial heard Tucker was concerned about her son`s mental health and he had sought the help of a psychiatrist in Oromocto the day before she disappeared.
