The new leader of the Opposition in the Legislature pulled no punches in his first Question Period by declaring the education system in New Brunswick is broken.
Blaine Higgs also callsĀ the decision by the provincial government to move French Immersion back to grade 1 self serving because it wasn’t mentioned in the 10 year education plan.
Premier Brian Gallant rejects that charge, saying the government was told the earlier you start learning a second language, the better.
Gallant also took exception to Higgs calling the education system “broken” while acknowledging improvements have to be made.
