The Legion in Hampton finds itself in the middle of a nationwide controversy over whether an Afghan war vet can lay a wreath during the Remembrance Day ceremony.
Jamie Keating, who lives in Saint John, went on Facebook to express his displeasure at being denied the opportunity to honour 9 of his comrades who were killed in Afghanistan.
Keating says he was told 9 names were too many, he didn’t live in Hampton and only MP’s and military officers are allowed to lay wreaths.
The head of the Legion in Hampton, John Sherwood has reportedly resigned according to Keating who says he has been led to believe changes will be made.
