An arrest has been made by Saint John police after a stabbing last week on the east side.
A 32-year-old man is facing charges of making threats and assault with a weapon. A 29-year-old man was stabbed during an altercation between neighbours at one of the apartment buildings along Ellerdale Street.
In another incident, a 28-year-old man almost got away with a large amount of packaged meat from the Superstore on Somerset Street. City police were told there was a theft in progress along with the colour of the car.
It was stopped and police not only discovered the meat, but also a couple of bottles of liquor reported stolen from the nearby liquor store. Charges of theft and possession of stolen goods are expected.
