The People’s Choice winners have been announced by the Canadian Institute of Planners which conducted a nationwide vote.
Rothesay Common, with more than 30 thousand votes that were cast for public space. The Common has been used as a public space since 1935. Back in 2006, it was added to the New Brunswick Register of Historic Places. Last December, the 14 thousand square foot rink for skakers was opened up.
Water Street in Saint Andrews also won for being a great street. It serves as the focal point for 80 thousand visitors who come to the town each year.
Downtown Antigonish was the people’s choice for neighbourhood.
