Donald Trump may have made political history by being an outsider who took on the political establishments of both the Republicans and Democrats to win the U.S. Presidency but Political Science Professor Paul Hamilton of Brock University in Ontario says the really hard work now begins.
Hamilton describes Trump as a political neophyte who`s used to giving orders to underlings who carry them out without question but that`s not the way it works in Washington and many of his fellow Republicans hold different policy positions than he does and repudiated him during the campaign.
Hamilton is calling Trump’s promise to bring the jobs that have been lost back to the angry white working class “a complete fantasy”. He says the trends that see technology displacing people are global and beyond the ability of a President Trump to change.
