Rothesay Council talked about a proposed new housing development on Hillcrest Drive that would see condos and garden homes built before deciding to kick the can down the road. Town Council is hoping the developer will scale back the project even further.
Mayor Nancy Grant says there was concern about whether the posposal deviated too much from the town’s Municipal Plan because of the number of homes that would be constructed even though the type of housing being talked about is not currently available in Rothesay.
Town Manager John Jarvie says the ball is now in the court of the developer and there’s no guarantee further changes will be made. He adds if there are substantial changes, a third public hearing will have to be held.
