City fire crews and other officials spent three and a half hours at the scene of a propane leak in Lorneville at Brewster’s Machine Shop.
While a 2000 litre propane tank was being moved it rolled onto its side breaking a valve.
Some gas escaped into the air.
Propane technicians, staff from Public Safety, Environment and Worksafe NB were all on scene.
A new valve was put into to seal the tank.
Platoon Chief Mark Wilson tells us tomorrow, the propane will be safely transferred to another container.
Wilson says air quality readings taken hours after the incident show zero gas levels inside the business.
As a precaution, all staff were evacuated and sent home for the day.
