The Coroners Act in New Brunswick will be modernised in view of medically assisted dying being made legal by the federal government and classified as a medical procedure.
Changes will be made to provincial legislation that will facilitate medically assisted dying by ensuring such deaths are not reported to the coroner unless there are irregularities or special circumstances that warrant an investigation.
