Premier Brian Gallant has launched a blistering attack on Opposition leader Blaine Higgs. The Premier says all he wants to do is cut even in his own backyard when he opposed spending $13 million dollars to build the Chris Saunders Memorial School.
Gallant claims Higgs also opposed the building of a new school in west Saint John which is the first one to be constructed in the city since 1984. It will replace Havelock, St. Patrick’s and Seawood as well as improvements to the City Market and provincial funding for modernisation of the port on the west side.
While the Premier accuses the new Provincial Conservative leader of wanting to cut, the M-L-A for Gagetown-Petitcodia Ross Wetmore says Brian Gallant has been doing a lot of cutting including the Gagetown ferry and four courthouses.
Wetmore quips New Brunswick is dying the death of a thousand cuts.
