In what might have come as a shock to many parishioners, St. Joachim’s Catholic church on the east side will be closing in the new year.
That announcement was made by Bishop Robert Harris to the congregation.
St. Joachim’s on Loch Lomand Road, said to be heavily in debt, will be holding its final mass February 5th before merging with St. Ann’s Church on Simpson Drive.
