The provincial government appointing David Alston the new chief entrepreneur in residence which is a new unpaid volunteer position.
Alston is a private sector entrepreneur who has advised hundreds of start-ups in Atlantic Canada.
He was also a volunteer advisor for the Gallant Liberals on the Strategic Program Review and on the 10 year education plan.
Premier Brian Gallant says by appointing Alston to this new role they are harnessing his experience and know how to foster innovation inside and outside government.
Alston will have to create an internship program that will support interns through an entrepreneurial approach.
He says he hopes to do his part in encouraging and inspiring more provincial problem-solvers young and old and in and out of government to participate in imagining what is possibe in this province and how we can creatively achieve it.
