Anyone requiring care in the New Brunswick Heart Centre will be staying in a more modern facility thanks to 6 million dollars in upgrades.
3 million dollars came from the province to renovate Coronary Intensive Care and Cardiac Stepdown Unit.
The New Brunswick Heart Centre’s Dr. Vernon Paddock says the nursing work areas, Cardiac Care Unit and general patient care area are all improved.
He says they didn’t get any more room but the nurses can use the space more efficiently meaning better patient care.
$110,000 was provided by the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation for furnishings and technology in the new renovated Cardiac unit.
