The long term financial sustainability of the province is not sustainable. That message delivered by provincial Auditor-General Kim MacPherson who claims significant changes are required to improve the financial health of New Brunswick.
She’s worried about the increasing net debt which will be rising over the next few years by almost a billion dollars.
She also told M-L-A’s food inspections and enforcement of the existing regulations have to be beefed up. MacPherson is concerned about the risks posed by community suppers which are not licenced given that someone has died.
MacPherson also points out meat produced in New Brunswick which amounts to 3 per cent of consumption is not inspected at all and she’s calling for stronger penalties when there are violations of the existing regulations.
