Another budget hit for Quispamsis with word the town is getting $50 thousand less in provincial grant money next year.
Mayor Gary Clark says he remains determined not to raise the tax rate but the reduction has made the job faced by town council more difficult because that 50 thousand will have to be found somewhere in the budget.
He points out in the last 7 years, provincial funding for the town in the form of the unconditional grant has gone down by over 700 thousand dollars which represents 4 cents on the tax rate.
Clark suggests Quispamsis is getting the short end of the stick compared to some other municipalities.
