Many New Brunswickers are mourning the death today of a well known man in the fishing industry.
46 year old Christian Brun was killed in a car crash near Miramichi yesterday.
Tributes are being posted to social media by friends, family, politicians and others, after the tragic passing of Christian Brun, who was the Executive Director of the Maritime Fishermen’s Union.
Provincial Minister of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries Rick Doucet he was shocked when he heard the news,
“I worked with Christian, for probably about ten years. We worked shoulder to shoulder on many files. He was a very strong voice in the commercial fisheries sectors and he was a shrewd negotiator in the fisheries. He worked tirelessly to represent the best interests of the fishermen. He was great person to work with. We sat on opposite sides of the negotiation table for many years. We often agreed to disagree on a lot of things, but we certainly had a mutual amount of respect for each other.”
Deeply saddened at the news of the tragic death of Christian Brun today. I will miss my friend Christian. https://t.co/8fseqFpMrp
