RCMP in New Brunswick set up 133 checkstops and checked more than 6,000 vehicles last Saturday which was National Impaired Driving Enforcement Day.
On December 3rd, 18 drivers were arrested for impaired driving and another 6 drivers were given a warning on a roadside screening device resulting in a week-long driver’s licence suspension.
Staff Sergeant Gilles Blinn says many drivers were aware that December 3rd was National Impaired Driving Enforcement Day but yet some still chose to get behind the wheel.
In an ongoing effort to keep the roads safer, Mounties in New Brunswick will be conducting checkstops on a regular basis.
