A frigid Arctic air mass is moving into the province tonight and all of New Brunswick is under an extreme cold warning.
Temperatures will plummet to at least -20 C and with the windchill it could feel more like -35.
You’re being advised to dress in layers and cover exposed skin to avoid frostbite or hypothermia.
Environment Canada meteorologist Claude Cote says gusty winds will create a dangerous windchill.
“Thursday night and throughout the day on Friday, we’re looking at very strong winds from the west-northwest and along with temperatures that are well below normal,” he says.
Cote says Friday night will also be very cold but conditions start to improve on Saturday with lighter winds.
By Sunday, he adds temperatures are expected to climb well above freezing possibly up to 12 C.
