While you are finishing up your Christmas shopping this week, a warning from the Codiac RCMP, not to leave your parcels in plain sight in your vehicle.
Corporal Mike Gaudet says thieves will often walk the parking lots at this time of year, looking for car doors that have been left unlocked, “It takes a mere second to open a car door and grab a parcel. Lock your car doors, and make your parcels not so visible, whether you put them in the trunk or throw a blanket or a jacket overtop.
He says they receive an increase in calls at this time of year, with reports of items being stolen from cars.
But Gaudet also says the doors in your vehicle should be kept locked all year round, not just before Christmas.
