A former Quispamsis councillor is disappointed the town went ahead with a funding cut to Enterprise Saint John.
Danny Dobson lives in Quipsamsis and was a town councillor in 1989.
He says the town isn’t keeping the pedal to the medal in terms of pursuing economic growth.
Dobson says town council is too focused on the fact they experienced a blimp in their building permits this year.
He says the ESJ board is “second to none”.
Dobson says $50,000 is a lot of money, but it’s more about the message that Quispamsis is now sending being the only town to cut funding to ESJ.
He would have preferred to see Quispamsis support Enterprise Saint John whole heartedly like Grand Bay did, but says the town could have at least followed the lead of Saint John and Rothesay with two six-month funding increments pending an update from ESJ.
Dobson lives in Quispamsis and owns a business on Millennium Drive.
