An apartment building at 375 Coldbrook Crescent on the east side was evacuated early last night after a blaze broke out in a kitchen.
Fire crews found heavy smoke and flames when they arrived.
The fire was extinguished in short order but there was so much smoke, the building had to be ventilated before people were allowed back in their apartments.
The three people who live in the apartment where the fire occurred were not allowed back.
