Saint John lawyer Rod Gillis is suing over his trial and conviction for obstruction of justice which was later overturned by the New Brunswick Court of Appeal.
Gillis was the lawyer for former Liberal MLA Frank Branch in a civil lawsuit against the North Shore Forest Products Marketing Board as well as on criminal charges of fraud and extortion.
Gillis is a member of the law firm Gilbert McGloan Gillis which has filed a class action suit on behalf of Volkswagen drivers in New Brunswick over the emissions scandal.
