If you’ve ever daydreamed about buying your own private island, that dream could become a reality in New Brunswick.
The approximately 250-acre Cheney Island, which sits just off the coast of Grand Manan island, in between Ross Island and White Head Island, is currently for sale for those house hunters who are seeking a little extra solitude.
The price-tag that comes with that kind of privacy? $850,000.
There are two houses on the property and NB Power does provide electricity to the island.
According to the provincial archives, William Cheney settled on the island in the late 1700s and was one of the earliest settlers on Grand Manan.
