A former UNB professor is using her teaching skills to help people communicate at work.
Beth Gilbert will be in Saint John later tomorow for a workshop on respectful communication.
We asked her if something happened in our workplaces to make this kind of seminar useful and she suggests it may be because of what is going on in politics right now.
She says we have politicians that are not communicating in a way that we feel that is respectful and people are seeing the damaging consequenses of it and recognizing that it is more important now.
Gilbert heard from a former student who took the active listening workshop which she uses all the time and would now like her managers to take the course.
Her next workshop is coming up tomorrow at ConnexionWorks at 1 Germain Street.
