The Liberals have launched political attacks against Provincial Conservative leader Blaine Higgs with commercials now running even though the provincial election isn’t until September of next year.
Premier Brian Gallant says the Liberals now have evidence Higgs supported the L-N-G tax break back in 2005 which the Saint John police union claims cost the city over $80 million.
Higgs was working for Irving Oil back then and was on the Board of Directors of Canaport LNG. He says his role was to negotiate with the Spanish company, Repsol so the L-N-G terminal would be located in Saint John.
