Multiple reports suggest the deal will lead to the slashing of 10,000 jobs globally while others suggest the cuts may be focused in Japan.
Saint John has two Xerox operations, one on Technology drive and the other in Place 400.
Combined they employ more than 700 people.
Premier Brian Gallant toured the Saint John facility last spring with Xerox Canada president John Corley.
