Saint Johners who shop at Atlantic Superstore can now do their grocery shopping from behind their computer instead a cart with the launch of the online service.
Online shopping is now available at the Rothesay Avenue store in Saint John, and is also now available in Sussex and St. Stephen. Rothesay and Millidgeville will have it starting next Wednesday.
Mark Boudreau of Loblaws says they’re the first grocer in Canada to offer a full online grocery service though they don’t believe that this going to replace the in-person shopping experience.
“We see this as another option for them in terms of making your life a little bit easier and offering that convenience, we know in terms of the entire industry things are moving towards that way,” says Boudreau.
“The big focus for us for the online grocery service has been the capacity to deliver really high quality fruits and vegetables and meats in a way that people are happy with.”
There is a $3 fee for each online order and after you put through your order online you then go and pick it up at the store, it isn’t a to-your-door delivery service.
