As regular season action winds down for the Saint John Riptide, the city’s mayor wants people to come check out a game.
The Riptide host the Moncton Magic at Harbour Station on Thursday night in a game that’s been dubbed the “Battle of the 506”.
Mayor Don Darling wants to see a full house and has even issued a friendly challenge to Moncton Mayor Dawn Arnold.
“The friendly challenge is that the losing mayor will wear the other team’s jersey for the day at city hall,” says Darling. “Mayor Arnold will look fantastic in a Riptide jersey.”
Another great @sjriptide game. Please buy your tickets for March 29 battle of the 506 against Moncton ASAP. We need to know how close we are to our goal of 5000 plus fans. #ridethewave pic.twitter.com/GmuYCvpjoe
