The chair of the Saint John Police Commission has submitted her resignation and Jennifer Carhart says the timing was just right.
Carhart says she has two children and there have been three chiefs go through during her tenure and she cited personal reasons for the departure.
We asked if new blood will mean perhaps some new ideas or approaches for the police commission.
“With change in leadership people tend to bring a different and fresh perspective and I look forward to Brian Boudreau who is now the chair and his style of leadership and his new way of looking at things and that creates opportunities,” says Carhart.
In the past, the Saint John Police Association has accused the commission of being dysfunctional, but Carhart does not agree with that assessment.
