Irving Oil says it has signed a deal with Quebec-based convenience store operator Couche-Tard to acquire 13 retail sites and brand 23 others across Atlantic Canada.
Nine of the 13 acquired sites are in Nova Scotia, with the rest in Dieppe, Charlottetown and St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
They were all previously operated under the Ultramar brand.
We’re excited to be growing our retail network with nine new locations in Nova Scotia – we are dedicated to Atlantic Canada, as we continue to ensure safe, secure and reliable energy supplies across communities where we live and work. #irvingoil #lovewhereyoulive #novascotia pic.twitter.com/Tf3vdETTUp

There’s no word on how much the deal is worth, but Irving Oil says retail sites will begin transitioning immediately with a planned completion date of late-August.
Couche-Tard has more than 15,000 stores in Canada, the United States, Europe, and 14 other countries around the world.
