Less than 24 hours after Tuesday’s Pride flag-raising at City Hall, Reverend James Crooks has voluntarily stepped down as 2018 parade marshal.
A statement on Facebook from Saint John Pride apologizes while also alluding to pending litigation completely independent of the operations of Saint John Pride.
The statement from Saint John Pride doesn’t specify the nature of the pending litigation.
We contacted the Saint John Police Force for clarification on this matter.
They responded by email saying they are aware of the post and the concerns that could arise from this information and encouraged anyone with questions or concerns to contact them.
Saint John Pride says Crooks’ decision to step down does not impact the schedule of events for Pride week.
