The group Canadian Progress Club Ignite is again collecting handbags with feminine toiletries to help those in need in the Port City.
Club President Jennifer LeBlanc tells us how The Purse Project works. ” We are asking that people in the community fill a gently used handbag or a new handbag for that matter fill it with some toiletries and necessities women might need to use and bring it to one of four locations between 10 am and 2 pm Saturday.
LeBlanc says they are looking for items that women would use every day in order to get ready for work and with winter coming it would be nice to have some lip balm, a hat, scarves some gloves, maybe a coffee card as well.
Leblanc says there are a lot of working poor in the city who need this help as well.
You can drop off purses at Urban Shoe Myth, K-V Oasis, Saint John Hyundai, or Oh My Soul and Journey.
