A contentious issue that is expected to be included in Premier Blaine Higgs throne speech tomorrow is fracking.
Minister for Energy and Resource Development Mike Holland says it is a file that the Conservatives will be putting on the table. “We were very clear that for the first time, that local municipalities are going to be the ones driving the agenda.”
The moratorium on shale gas is expected to be lifted by the Conservative government in areas that support it.
Holland says, “I’ve only been in the department for around a week, but it is a file that we are going to put on the table, and with careful and conscientious efforts and thought and work, bring it to to light as it relates to the platform. I want to really, really dig into this subject because when I share views and opinions, it is not the views of Mike Holland, MLA, it is the reflection of the people who hired me.”
The throne speech will be delivered Tuesday afternoon at the New Brunswick Legislature…
